It’s fair to say that many Blues fans were keen to dismiss the addition of of Lee Camp as first team stopper, some of us here at Tilton Talk were indeed not to sure…But wow, Boss Garry Monks belief in Camp has surely paid off this season and the free transfer signing has gained in confidence as the season has progressed with the club within earshot of a play off birth.
Lee started his professional career with Derby County in 2002, having progressed through the club’s youth ranks. During a five-year spell at the club, he made 89 league appearances for the Midlands side and included international spells with both England and Northern Ireland!!!(another story)
Garry obviously saw something in the well travelled keeper to make a move, with many Sunderland fans( whom he went on loan to from Cardiff) genuinely shocked with a fair few saying he was most definatly the worst keeper ever to don the Black Cats Jersey.
Slowly and steadily Lee is becoming a bit of a hero down at St Andrews, not necessarily for his goal keeping prowess but more for his commitment .
Noses lover a tryer…Noses love hero’s.
